Welcome to my blog! My name is Kristen, and this is my little corner of the internet where I get to talk all about books.
I mostly read Adult SFF (Science Fiction and Fantasy). But, I also enjoy a good contemporary romance from time to time and the occasional classic. And even though I read much less YA than I used to, I still have some favorite authors I will continue to follow. I also love Middle Grade. Especially when you just need something fun and whimsical and heartwarming.
My favorite authors are Erin Morgenstern, Brandon Sanderson, and Katherine Arden. And, I will never quit pushing their books on people. (It’s like my version of “Haaave you met Ted?” from HIMYM. Haha.) I love books with found families, strong female friendships, angsty romances, and morally gray protagonists. Oh, and sarcastic banter. Give me all the snark, please and thank you.
In the real world I work in Higher Ed both with veterans going back to school and as a history professor. Outside of reading, I spend my time crafting, taking Soka for walks, playing games with Camden, and re-watching Lord of the Rings for the umpteenth time. I love snow, but my favorite season is Fall. I’m a night owl with a hate-hate relationship with my alarm clock, an introverted Gryffindor, and a believer that apples should always be paired with peanut butter. Oh, and I spend entirely too much time on YouTube.
