Hello Bookworms! Today I decided to do the Jingle Bell Book Tag which was created by Richard at The Humpo Show. Each of the questions are based on Christmas songs or movies. ♫ ♪ ♫ ♪
1. “All I Want For Christmas Is You…” | What book do you want to see under the Christmas Tree?
Oh, I didn’t really ask for any books this year. (As my book hauls show, I have no restraint when it comes to buying books for myself. Haha.) But, I wouldn’t mind seeing Steele Crow Saga by Paul Krueger under the tree. I don’t know much about this one – but the blurb mentions animal companions so that’s really all I need to know to be interested.
2. “Simply Having A Wonderful Christmas Time…” | What book that you have read this year have you enjoyed the most?
Books that were just pure enjoyment would probably be Get a Life, Chloe Brown by Talia Hibbert or Seven Blades in Black by Sam Sykes. Both of these are going to make my Best Of list this year.
3. “It’s Beginning to look a lot like Christmas…” | Which book has most festive look to it?
Oh, this is a tough one. Maybe the Greenglass House books? The books take place at an Inn at Christmas time, and the covers show it covered in snow. It just looks so cozy.
4. Elf | What book unleashes your inner child?
I think I’ve got to go with the obvious answer of Harry Potter here. I’ve ben re-reading the illustrated editions with my son this year (we’re currently on the fourth one) and it’s been such a fun experience. Though I am a little bummed that we have to wait so long for book 5.
5. The Grinch | Your favorite villain…
Hmmm…probably either the Lord Ruler from the Mistborn series because I love a villain that sees himself as the hero. Or Regal from the Farseer Trilogy because I’ve never hated a character that much since Dolores Umbridge.
6. The Holiday | Name your favorite TWO couples…
I mean, of course, one of those couples has to be Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy from Pride and Prejudice. And, I think I’m going to have to go with Celia and Marco from The Night Circus for my second choice.
7. What book would you like to give as a present to your followers?
The Starless Sea by Erin Morgenstern. It’s my favorite book of 2019 so of course I think everyone should read it. (Also, all the editions of it are freaking beautiful!)
Have you done the Jingle Bell Book Tag? If so, let me know so that I can check it out.
