#Blogmas Day 8 I Favorite Christmas Movies

Today we’re talking Christmas movies which are one of my favorite things about the holidays. I watch a ridiculous number of them from about the middle of November to the big day. So I’ve got 10 Christmas movie recommendations for you, 5 of them are family fun Christmas movies and the other 5 are more romantic/romantic comedy Christmas movies.

Family Christmas Movies:

Miracle on 34th Street (1994): This is a delightful family Christmas movie about the power of believing in Santa Claus. Also, I’ve had a crush on Dylan McDermott since I was about 12 years old so there’s that.

The Santa Clause (1994): I who doesn’t love a classic Tim Allen movie about a guy turning into Santa Claus?

Arthur Christmas (2011): This is an incredibly sweet children’s movie about Santa’s son Arthur who takes it upon himself to deliver a missed Christmas present to a little girl.

Christmas with the Kranks (2004): A hilarious movie about a married couple who decide to skip Christmas only to find out at the last minute that their daughter is coming home for the holidays.

How the Grinch Stole Christmas (2000): Do I even need to explain this one? It’s Jim Carey as the Grinch. It’s a Christmas mainstay.

Romantic Christmas Movies:

The Holiday (2006): Watching Kate Winslet’s character realize her worth is about the best thing I’ve ever seen. I absolutely adore this movie.

A Christmas Kiss (2011): A spontaneous kiss in an elevator with a stranger – who turns out to be your boss’s boyfriend? Great female friendships, and of course there is a Happily Ever After.

A Christmas Prince (2017): I’m a sucker for a royal romance especially set at Christmas. A journalist goes undercover and falls in love with the prince. And the father/daughter relationship in this movie is so heartwarming.

The Holiday Calendar (2018): A magical advent calendar and childhood friends reconnecting? Yes, please.

12 Dates of Christmas (2011): A groundhogs day situation where the female lead learns something new every time she relives Christmas Eve and learns to to see what’s right in front of her.

Also, a bonus Christmas movie confession: I kinda hate the movie Elf. And I definitely hate A Christmas Story. I don’t know whose idea it was to play that movie on a loop on TV for 24 hours every Christmas, but I loathe them.
