August TBR/Tome Topple Readathon

Hello Bookworms! I’m back – again. One of these days I won’t have to apologize for my prolonged absence, but as Aragorn says in Return of the King, “It is not this day!” Haha.

In addition to my regular TBR for August, I’ve also got a special readathon TBR. I am going to be participating in my first Tome Topple Readathon this month – and I’m super excited about it. Tome Topple was created by Sam over at Thoughts on Tomes on Booktube, and its all about reading big books. i.e. books over 500 pages. You can check out Sam’s video to hear more about the readathon and the other hosts. You can also join the Goodreads Group and follow Tome Topple on Twitter for updates and reading sprints.

The readathon runs for 2 weeks from midnight in your time zone on August 4th until 11:59 in your timezone on August 17th.

There are 5 challenges:

1. Read more than 1 tome

2. Read a graphic novel

3. Read a tome that is part of a series

4. Buddy read a tome

5. Read an adult novel

The Rise and Fall of the D.O.D.O by Neal Stephenson and Nicole Galland

Caliban’s War by James S. A. Corey

The Inflatable Woman by Rachael Ball (graphic novel)

The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss

Other things I want to read in August:

Lumberjanes, Vol 6 by Shannon Watters, Noelle Stevenson, Kat Leyh, Grace Ellis, Carey Pietsch, Maarta Laiho, and Brooke Allen

Simon vs. The Homo Sapians Agenda by Beck Allbertalli

Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare (Yes, I’ve never read the Infernal Devices – I’m a terrible Shadowhunters fan.)

Are any of you participating in Tome Topple this round? Have you read any of these books? What are you reading in August? Let me know in the comments. ๐Ÿ™‚

  1. Good luck with your tbr! I’m also taking part in the TomeTopple readathon. I’ve read Caliban’s war and it is similar to Leviathan wakes so if you found that a quick read you should breeze through this installment too.

    1. Thank you! You absolutely should – I just love how super chill it is. Just read big books, that’s basically the only requirement.

She’s doing well – except she chewed up my copy of Clockwork Angel yesterday so she got in big trouble! Haha. Luckily for her, she’s super adorable so I couldn’t stay mad at her. Haha.
